1. SC/ST :

15% of the seats in each course are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and 7.5% for Scheduled Caste and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes. For admission to these seats, candidates should get themselves registered in the appropriate cell in Delhi University.

2. War Widows :

5% of the seats of each course are reserved for the children/widows/wives of officers and men of the Armed Forces including paramilitary personnel (i) killed or disabled in action. These cases of the wives/widows/children of officers and men of the Armed Forces including para-millitarypersonnel who(ii) died/were disabled while on duty, will be considered for admission against the 5% seats in the courses reserved for the wives/widows /children of the officers and men of the Armed Forces including para-millitary personnel killed or disabled in action, If any seat remains vacant after admission of persons of the (i) category.

3. Physically handicapped:

3% seats in all undergraduate and Post graduates institutions (including Professional and Technical Institutions) will be reserved for candidates with physical disabilities.

3% reservation may be allocated as follows :-
( i ) 1% for person with low vision or blindness.
( ii ) 1% for hearing impaired.
( iii ) 1% for those with loco motor disabilities and / or cerebral palsy.
4. Other Backward Classes (OBC) :

9% of the total seats in each course are reserved fo candidates belonging to O.B.C. candistaes. However, the guidelines and modalities for admission are bein worked out and will be communicated soon by the University of Delhi..

5. Sports :

Some seats (not exceeding 5%) are reserved for outstanding sports persons. Selection for which is done on the recommendation of the College Sports Committee.

6. Foreign Students :

Foreign students who wish to join Motilal Nehru College must satisfy the course and age requirements. They should apply to:

Other Criteria for Admission :-

No person who has been convicted of any offence involving moral turpitude, shall be admitted to a course of study or permitted to take any examination of the University until a period of 2 years has elapsed from the date of expiry of the sentence imposed on him/her.
